PST files have pre-defined size limits that are dependent on MS Outlook version. When these PST file crosses this size limit due to excess of emails and other items of the user mailbox, PST files may get corrupt. To avoid this kind of a situation, users can split PST files so that the contents get divided into other PST files created by splitting the initial one.
