Various factors lead to Access database corruption such as storage media error, incorrect database format, damage of key data structure, unexpected system shutdown, software and synchronization failure, virus attack etc. making MDB files lose data. Microsoft has an inbuilt utility to check the reliability and integrity of MDF files. However, that does not ensure recovery completely.
